Your OpportunityAt Stantec, we bring technology‑forward solutions to water challenges. We are seeking an experienced, versatile civil engineer with design and construction experience in stormwater, potable water, irrigation, sanitary sewer design, plant site, and other water/sewer conveyance elements. This role will serve as the civil lead on local and regional water treatment, wastewater treatment, and conveyance projects across Idaho and the Mountain West Region, supporting critical client infrastructure improvement projects.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Lead our local civil team
- Mentor junior staff
- Support project team in development of civil design documentation, plans, specifications, and reports for project design elements.
- Prepare documentation required for stormwater permitting through local jurisdictions.
- Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including stormwater, potable water, and sanitary sewer designs.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi‑discipline team.
- Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other construction administration tasks related to the civil design component of the project.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
- Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
- Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software.
- Self‑starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
- Ability to visualize three‑dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings
- Initiative on tasks and coordination with design team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, ADLCPR, Storm

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; advanced degree desirable
- Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in civil or land development design projects; typical office environment with computer work; field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus‑eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated.
