In this role, you’ll help bring engaging teen programs to life by supervising and supporting staff such as Youth Camp Leaders and Teen Outreach Leaders as they facilitate a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational activities and events across multiple teen outreach programs.
As a Teen Program Supervisor, you’ll guide staff, help coordinate activities and events, and ensure programs run smoothly in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. This role may engage with a variety of teen outreach programs and events, including Picnic in the Park (serving lunch in selected parks), Out & About (summer day camp), Youth Employment Program (offering teens workforce experience and skills), Teen City (after school school‑based program), and one‑time teen events (Bus Day Ever, Pool Parties, Fort Fridays).
Programs take place across the city, indoors and outdoors, making this a great role for someone who enjoys being active and working in a dynamic setting. Applicants must be 19 years of age or older.
- Overall supervision of participants ages 11-17, support staff, such as Youth Camp Leaders or Teen Outreach Leaders.
- Works with Program Coordinator to organize and develop logistics, scheduling, games, field trips, and activities for camps. Sets up, breaks down, and cleans up activities.
- Operation of city vehicles to transport to various locations in and around the Boise area.
- Communicates with staff, parents, families, participants and community partners and businesses verbally and in writing.
- Maintains, keeps secure, and manages the inventory of related program equipment and program data.
- Programs take place in both indoor and outdoor settings and summer time camps and activities are designed to be outdoors the majority of the time.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
- Certification or demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the specific camp discipline/activity.
- Deal with individuals in a friendly and tactful manner.
- Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance.
- Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Two years of experience working with youth from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
- City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation.

- In accordance with the City of Boise Drug Free Workplace Regulation, this position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to testing requirements including Post Offer Applicant Testing, Random Testing, Reasonable Suspicion, Post‑Accident, etc. Applicants will be required to submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to hire. Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative pre‑employment drug test.
