POSITION
Part-Time Physician Assistant

DESCRIPTION AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSDiagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic joint pain independently and as part of a healthcare team. Essential skills & duties include:
- Basic knowledge of arthritis, various soft tissue injuries and musculoskeletal conditions treated by our clinic what treatments are appropriate to address each condition, and the skills needed to perform the individual procedures for each treatment.
- Conduct new patient exams including physical exam of each patient.
- Reviews patient records when applicable, including radiology reports, and other provider notes.
- Perform physical exams to diagnose or confirm musculoskeletal pathologies.
- Coordinates with supervising physician for any questions or concerns regarding treatment plan for specific pathologies.
- Perform multiple joint injections & related treatments for established patients.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate
- Refers patients to specialists and other relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Follows established company policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Orders and interprets appropriate imaging studies when needed to aid in diagnosing the condition of the patients at our clinic.
Nearly all functions of the position can be learned through on-site training and teachable on the job. Employer is willing to pay for training. The strongest candidates will have some or all of the below:
- 1+ year of joint injection experience
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
- Availability on Wednesdays. Flexibility to support on call 1-2 times/ week.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Frequent speaking, listening, sitting, using hands/fingers, and handling other objects with adequate breaks.
- This position will sometimes require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, or crouching.
