Be the friendly first hello and last goodbye for guests at Zoo Boise! As a Zoo Front Gate Attendant
, you’ll be at the heart of the guest experience—welcoming visitors, assisting with admissions and purchases, and helping set the tone for a fun and memorable day at the zoo. Open to individuals 16 years of age and older, this role offers up to 19 hours per week with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Greets customers and provides a high level of customer service. Collects admission fees and answers customer questions.
- Sells Zoo Boise memberships, reconciles cash, and provides customers with Zoo information as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
- Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training — Experience working with customers and handling cash.
- Working knowledge — Zoo operations and programs;
Basic math skills. - Ability — Interact with customers in a tactful manner; provide a high level of customer service; perform basic mathematical computations quickly and accurately; cooperate with City employees, the general public, and other organizations; communicate effectively in English; complete assignments timely; understand and comply with rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training — Six months experience in a customer service role.
- Special Requirements — Applicants must be able to pass City of Boise background check processes including criminal history and reference checks.

Physical and Environmental DemandsPhysical:

Indoor conditions and outdoor weather conditions. This position works days, evenings, and weekends as required.
