About the RoleThe Communications Director participates in meetings each week to present engagement statistics, review current advertising performance, and preview upcoming publications. This person works closely with the entire IFF team on policy issues, articles, events, strategy, development, and more. Collaboration is central to this position.
The ideal candidate is a quick thinker, fast worker, and professional in the field of communications who enjoys a fast pace and variety of responsibilities.
The Communications Director will report to the President and is expected to work in the IFF offices in downtown Boise.
This is a full‑time position requiring flexibility for evening and weekend events, as well as some work in and around the Idaho state capitol building. Reliable transportation, professionalism, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to the cause of liberty are essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities Communications Strategy- Oversee and execute the organization’s daily communications strategy across email, social media, digital publishing, events, articles, videos, and multimedia platforms
- Lead all social media efforts, ensuring active and strategic engagement across platforms.
- Post daily content on IFF's multiple social media accounts
- Respond to local media stories and political posts
- Promote IFF articles and other organizational content
- Manage a consistent email schedule, drafting and sending multiple emails each week
- Ability to produce and conduct online petitions is a plus
- Writing, editing, video production, and graphic design in order to maximize visibility and audience engagement.
- Create compelling content
- Write and speak with knowledge and understanding of Idaho policy issues
- Managing live video broadcasts abilities a plus
- 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or another relevant field
- Competent in social media, video production, email lists, and petition management
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented with a strong sense of follow‑through
- Alignment with and passion for the mission and values of the Idaho Freedom Foundation
The projected salary range for this role is $65,000 – $70,000 per year. Compensation is based on the successful candidate’s educational background, experience, and skills.
