HDR is seeking a Construction Manager to support our Inland Northwest field services group from our office in Boise, Idaho
. We are looking for an engineer and/or construction management professional to support construction engineering, inspection, and administration services of public infrastructure projects located in southern Idaho.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees or assists with the administration of one or multiple construction projects as an owner representative.
  • Assists with identifying and resolving design and construction issues in the field.
  • Conducts meetings with client and general contractor.
  • Works directly with the client and contractor to meet the needs of the project.
  • Communicates with the project team and client throughout the project.
  • Oversees the Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs on a project.
  • Prepares job progress and issues presentation in meetings with the client.
  • Prepares daily reports for each individual project.
  • Reviews and provides recommendations on contractors' CPM baseline construction schedules and schedule updates.
  • Reviews contractor submittals and responds to contractor inquiries, ensuring that contract specifications are met.
  • Coordinates with others to obtain responses to requests for information and other submittals from contractors and keeps a log of such requests.
  • Reviews pay documents and processes pay documents for payment.
  • Determines change order impacts and negotiates with contractors to achieve fair and reasonable cost and time settlements.
  • Prepares change orders including justification, independent cost estimates, and design documentation.
  • Performs other engineering and construction management functions as assigned.
  • Communicates regularly with PM, HDR field staff, and clients.
  • May require travel to projects throughout Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE or ability to obtain Idaho PE within 6 months of employment.
  • Familiarity with ITD Standards for Highway Construction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including field engineering, construction submittals, estimating, scheduling, and site safety.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
