Job Description:We are growing and seeking a few skilled and experienced people to join our Landscape Construction team in key positions of Leadman and Foreman.
- Direct and oversee 1–3 crews on assigned job sites.
- Assign daily tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress.
- Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques, equipment use, and safety practices.
- Ensure crews maintain productivity and meet project goals.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and layouts provided by the Superintendent.
- Perform site layout and marking to guide installation.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper staging on site.
- Operate and oversee use of equipment (skid steer, excavator, compactor, etc.).
- Ensure work is completed to design specifications and within budgeted hours.
- Conduct daily inspections of work performed by crews.
- Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions immediately.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship in planting, grading, irrigation, and hardscape installation.
- Document progress and report issues to the Superintendent.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on all job sites.
- Conduct daily safety checks of equipment and vehicles.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings with crews.
- Report and assist in investigating accidents or near-misses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between crew members and the Superintendent.
- Provide daily updates on progress, challenges, and resource needs.
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure site readiness and minimize conflicts.
- Respond promptly to Superintendent or client requests.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or construction coursework preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial landscape construction, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction practices, irrigation systems, grading, and plant materials.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and layouts.
- Proficiency in basic construction math and measurements.
- Valid Driver's license and ability to operate construction equipment
