Position OverviewOur client is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support construction projects throughout the Boise area, with a primary focus on K-12 schools, public works, and commercial facilities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to grow their career with a reputable contractor delivering high-quality projects for public and private clients.
The Project Engineer will support Project Managers and Superintendents through all phases of construction, assisting with documentation, coordination, scheduling, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and cost control
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Maintain accurate project documentation and logs
- Support procurement of materials and equipment
- Participate in jobsite meetings and owner/architect coordination meetings
- Assist with quality control, punch lists, and closeout documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and project requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or related field
- 1‑2+ years of experience in commercial, public works, or K‑12 construction (internship experience considered)
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project documentation
- Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
- Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment
- Experience on K‑12 or public sector projects
- Familiarity with Idaho public works requirements and documentation
- Field experience or exposure to jobsite operations
