Lead the fun and make summer unforgettable for Boise’s youth! As a Playcamp Supervisor
, you’ll guide and support a team of staff while working closely with elementary‑aged campers at outdoor parks across the city. You’ll prepare weekly schedules, mentor and monitor the Playcamp team, lead engaging games and activities, and help ensure a safe, positive, and enriching environment for all participants. From themed weekly activities and STEM projects to field trips, pool days, and visits from community partners, no two days are the same.
This temporary, at‑will summer position is open to applicants 19 years of age and older and is perfect for someone who enjoys leadership, creativity, and making a meaningful impact during the summer months.
- Supervises a site for a summer outdoor playcamp located in one of the city's parks.
- Organizes activities and educational games and develops curriculum.
- Provides a safe environment for participants and employees.
- Communicates with parents and supervises playcamp participants and staff during program hours.

- Prior experience working with children.
- Programs and activities appropriate for youth age 5-12.
- Supervisory principles and practices.

- Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
- Two years of supervisory experience and two years working with youth as an instructor, coach, teacher’s aide or nanny.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Valid state‑issued driver's license.
- City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

- In accordance with the City of Boise Drug Free Workplace Regulation, this position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to testing requirements including Post Offer Applicant Testing, Random Testing, Reasonable Suspicion, Post - Accident, etc. Applicants will be required to submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to hire. Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative pre‑employment drug test.
- This position is required to work directly with and oversee minors in the absence of their parent or guardian, or work directly with and oversee vulnerable adults in the absence of their caretaker or guardian.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is always lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also the employee is always pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds and occasionally pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate and occasionally loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
The work environment will include outdoor weather conditions and in wet and humid conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids. Work is performed in a park environment with exposure to insects and pets.
