Overview
The West Boise YMCA is seeking a Membership Specialist to join their membership team. This role is responsible for the development and execution of membership engagement, retention, and transactional activities.
About the YMCAServing over 20,000 active youth, adult, and family members, the West Branch of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA helps members lead a healthier, happier life. Facility amenities and features include six fitness studios, three racquetball courts, full-court basketball gym, youth activity center, climbing wall, 50‑meter swimming pool, and training pool.
ScheduleThis is a full‑time position at 40 hours weekly with YMCA Benefits. The schedule requirement is Monday through Friday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Occasional weekends and evenings.

- Engage potential new members by performing cause‑driven interviews and tours, explaining the benefits of the Y, and effectively enrolling new members to support them in meeting the seven cause measurement goals.
- Develop intentional relationships and serve as point of contact for existing members, perform retention activities, and perform cancellation recovery while using discretion and the Y voice attributes.
- Review and accurately process membership financial assistance applications.
- Maintain accurate account status for all membership units including invoices, bank drafts, cancellations, and status changes while preserving confidentiality.
- Assist Welcome Center staff by answering phones, responding to questions, and carrying out additional duties as needed.
- Experience in customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
