Project Accountant

Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Boise, Idaho. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in accounting systems, data management, and communication, contributing to the successful completion of exciting industry projects.

Responsibilities:

- Process bi-monthly subcontractor billings and material invoices with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Manage and maintain organized records including purchase orders, subcontract files, meeting minutes, and other project-related documentation.

- Support the client billing process and prepare quarterly accounting reports for the corporate office.

- Collaborate with the lead project accountant to secure tax-related documentation and ensure compliance with tax exemption requirements.

- Monitor project data and ensure adherence to established budgets and schedules.

- Track and report key accounting indicators to provide financial insights.

- Handle administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and distributing jobsite correspondence.

- Utilize technical knowledge to manage financial information effectively for complex construction projects.

- Maintain clear communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring smooth workflow.

- Contribute to the development of accurate and comprehensive financial records to support project goals.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, such as creating pivot tables and managing large datasets.

- Familiarity with Tier I accounting software; experience with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One is preferred.

- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and advanced job costing.

- Ability to organize technical data clearly and accurately.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster positive relationships.

- Capability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a cooperative and detail-oriented attitude.
