Cost Accountant

Description

Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is looking for a skilled Project/Cost Accountant to join our team in Boise, Idaho. In this role, you will be responsible for managing job cost accounting tasks for real estate development projects while collaborating with project managers and external partners. This position requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, cost tracking, and cash flow analysis within the construction and development industry.

Responsibilities:

- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data and reporting.

- Monitor and track job costs, budgets, and financial reports in compliance with project agreements and contractual obligations.

- Prepare detailed work papers, general journal entries, job cost entries, and reconcile ledgers to maintain accurate records.

- Assist in the creation of monthly draws, overseeing invoice processing, pay applications, and budget-to-actual reporting.

Requirements

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on resolution.

- Proficiency in Viewpoint Construction Software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.

-3+ years experience in construction and development accounting, including land development, cost allocation, and project closings.
