The QA technician is responsible for ensuring that the ingredients, materials and finished products meet Glenn Wayne Baking, LLC food safety and standards that follow SQF requirements, federal, local, and state regulations, Gluten Free and Customers requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP procedures, record keeping and the ability to write procedures, SOPs as needed.
- Ability to perform product on-hold investigation and reporting, writing reports regarding quality issues, with an emphasis on detailed root cause analysis.
- Perform daily pre-operational and post operational inspection.
- Weekly Scale Verification and record keeping.
- In process and finished product weight verification.
- Monitor and ensure that personnel follow GMPs.
- Documentation Verification performed Daily.
- Monitor all finished products ensuring they meet Glenn Wayne specifications and quality.
- CCP verification as scheduled
- Assist in investigating customer complaints.
- Perform All other duties assigned by Q.A. Manager
- Assists in maintaining product specifications
- Good problem solving and experience with manufacturing process and batch preparation.
- Formulate New Products while documenting all products testing with detail and clarity on standardized forms and per R&D protocol.
- Commercialize new products to assure efficiency, uniformity, and quality before they start mass production.
- Launches to any new or revised product from creation, development, and testing, through Introductory
- Production Ability to perform organopathic testing observations.
- Assure that SOPs are being followed.
To perform this job successfully, the Quality Assurance Technician must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with the ability to keep up with changing responsibilities and priorities. This position requires experience in supervising people. The Quality Assurance Technician should possess the following:
Education/ExperienceA.S. College degree preferred (but not necessary) in life science, biology, chemistry, engineering, or related field.
At least one year’s experience in manufacturing FDA regulated products. Knowledge of CGMP in food. Have experience with HACCP, Food Defense and SQF. Previous experience in a bakery environment preferred.
Language AbilityAbility to read and comprehend English. Ability to write business professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations within the organization. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
Math AbilityAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Good knowledge of the metric system.
