Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Maintenance Technician
. The purpose of this position is to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production machinery in a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful incumbent will support and maintain the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems of our manufacturing equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and production machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conveyors and automated systems
- Diagnose mechanical failures and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Support machine installations, relocations, and upgrades.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects related to machine reliability and plant efficiency.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and support off-shift operations when required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Technical certification preferred. - 3–5+ years of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC / aerospace preferred).
- Strong knowledge of, mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, spindles, and ball screws, and alignment, vibration, and machine leveling
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy machinery, oils, noise, and industrial conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off‑shift support when required.
