Manual Machinist

Long Island-based company looking to fill positions with advancement opportunities within. We currently have openings in our manufacturing location. We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining tools and equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality components while adhering to safety standards and lean manufacturing principles.

• Set up any manual machine.
• Knowledge of all tooling.
• Fabricate Fixtures to improve the job.
• Hold close tolerance +/- .001.
• Read prints.
• Ability to design and build fixtures for CNC production.
• Grinding knowledge.
• Milling and Lathe work.
• Check the size of parts to be sure they conform to prints.
• Some light mechanical assembly.
• Knowledge of standard measuring tools.
• Capable of sharpening drills & faces of end mills is a plus.
• Lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Stand for a period of 8 hours.
• Have working knowledge of deburring equipment.
