Senior Accounting Manager - Ronkonkowa NY - Manufacturing/Consumer Goods
Our team is working with a leading manufacturer & online retailer of health products looking to hire a Senior Accounting Manager to their growing team. The role will lead the company’s financial reporting function, overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as reporting packages for the banking group. The position ensures compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP, including complex revenue streams, while managing COGS budgeting, production variance analysis, inventory accounting, and gross margin reporting in a high-SKU manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities also include supporting the annual budget and audit processes, researching technical accounting matters, strengthening internal controls, and leveraging Net Suite to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. The role partners cross-functionally to deliver timely, reliable financial information and actionable insights to leadership.

Responsibilities- Lead the financial reporting function.
- Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and presentations for the banking group.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606, including evaluation of multi-channel revenue streams and variable consideration such as discounts, rebates, promotions, and returns reserves.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), including analysis of production variances, labor, overhead absorption, and raw material cost fluctuations.
- Oversee inventory accounting and financial analysis related to inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and working capital in a high-SKU manufacturing environment.
- Prepare and present gross margin rate walks, clearly explaining impacts from price, volume, mix, and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Participate in and support the annual budgeting process.
- Participate in and support the annual audit process, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Research and document accounting treatment for unusual transactions and new accounting pronouncements to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IAS.
- Prepare, review, and analyze key financial and operational performance metrics.
- Develop and implement improvements to reporting procedures and internal controls.
- Utilize Net Suite to enhance financial reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and improve system-driven insights across the organization.
- Assist in coordinating information flow between departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (active CPA required) with 5+ years of progressive experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods environments strongly preferred.
- Excellent project management and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in tight time frames.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Highly proficient in Excel and financial Net Suite.
