Weekend RN Supervisor

Job Description

The purpose of your position is to supervise the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Services staff on weekends and provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility. The role may be required by the Director of Nursing Services (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON) to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

• Oversee the day‑to‑day functions of the Nursing Services staff assigned to you and ensure performance aligns with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the long‑term care facility.
• Ensure staff complies with procedures set forth in the Nursing Services Procedures Manual.
• Make written and oral reports and recommendations concerning shift activities as required.
• Cooperate with other resident services to coordinate nursing services and maintain residents’ total regimen of care.
• Interpret department policies and procedures for staff, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
• Must clear a criminal background check, be in good standing with the Louisiana Misconduct Registry, and not appear on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Every other Saturday and Sunday – 8 hour shift.

• Education – Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or graduate of an approved RN program.
• Experience – At least three (3) years of nursing experience in long‑term care is required; at least two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers, including Internet, keyboard, and mouse navigation is required.
