Production Manager, Operations Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of The Hood Way and lead plant teams to ensure manufacturing operations consistently align with the Hood Management Philosophy of People, Process, and Performance.
- Lead day-to-day performance in Safety, Production, Quality, and Cost, analyzing results against budget and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Develop and support direct reports through consistent coaching, performance feedback, and mentoring.
- Plan, organize, and clearly communicate production schedules.
- Oversee all production processes within the assigned department.
- Identify, organize, and execute training and coaching opportunities for team members.
- Enforce all company policies, procedures, and recognized best practices, including health and safety regulations.
- Establish quality control standards and ensure consistent adherence.
- Coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance for production equipment in partnership with maintenance teams.
- Assist with physical inventory management in accordance with corporate procedures.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Capital Plan.
- Perform additional operational duties as assigned to support mill objectives.

- Associate degree or higher degree preferred, experience may be used in place of a degree.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. Prior wood products experience preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in lumber operations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and people-leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated success training employees in productivity and safety practices.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Detail-oriented, results-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of production processes and operations, supported by critical thinking and effective problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership-level knowledge of OSHA regulations with accountability for maintaining a safe work environment.
Salary Range: $84,000 - $101,000
