We are seeking a positive, compassionate, customer service-focused team member for the Driver position.

Job SummaryDrives vehicles to meet transportation needs of The Menger Springs residents. Ensures the security of vehicles and scheduled maintenance of vehicles.
Responsibilities- Drives bus and other vehicles as assigned
- Assists residents entering and leaving vehicles
- Meets all transportation schedules in a timely manner
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned vehicles (wash, vacuum, etc.)
- Maintains vehicles (oil, water, gas, tires, etc.) on a scheduled basis
- Provides first aid when necessary
- Conforms to changing transportation requirements
- Ensures vehicles are properly secured when not in use
- Operates vehicle safely and within legal limits
- Ensures documentation of current registration, safety inspection and proof of insurance is available in vehicle
- Selects route to destination based on safety, minimal travel time and maximum fuel economy
- Notifies supervisor of unusual events regarding other drivers’ actions, vehicle responsiveness, passengers or needed vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Ensures proper working order of wheelchair lift on bus
- Uses and secures vehicle phone in a proper manner
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. Ability to speak, read, understand and write English. - Training and
Experience:
Experience in operation of motor vehicles, knowledge of the city of San Antonio, ability to read road maps and vehicle manuals. - Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class “C” with a “P” (Passenger) endorsement. - Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of motor and commercial vehicle regulations, basic auto mechanics and basic first aid. - Special Requirement:
Must meet current insurance requirements including, but not limited to: drivers must be at least 25 years of age; drivers must have a safe driving record;
Morningside Ministries drivers are required to carry personal liability insurance in an amount at least equal to state minimum coverage limits. Proof of current coverage will be maintained.
