Salary Range: $23.87 Hourly/DOE (Seasonal May 23 - August 2, 2026)

Job Title: Pool Manager

Department: Parks & Recreation

Location: City of Boerne, Texas

• Supervises the part‑time pool operations staff, including scheduling and assignment of duties, training, and evaluations
• Directs and supervises the collection of all fees, prepares daily records of receipts and deposits in accordance with City policies
• Maintains, analyzes, and submits pertinent records in respect to daily patron admissions and revenue, sanitary water conditions (chlorine and pH readings), accidents, rescues, and assists, and first aid
• Develops and maintains ongoing in‑service training for Cashiers, Lifeguards, Instructors, and Assistant Manager/Head Guard
• Develops, promotes, and supervises a diversified aquatic program for all ages in accordance with community needs
• Plans, directs, schedules, supervises, and evaluates both the staff and the volunteers in the conduct of instructional swimming programs, and competitive and special events
• Assumes direct responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the lighting, filtration, sanitation, and overall safety of the facility
• Attends staff meetings as requested
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
• Makes decisions regarding refusal of patrons with health problems, intoxications, “controlled substances,” and bathing attire according to the Aquatic Facility Policy
• Informs the Parks & Recreation Director when supplies are needed, or equipment needs repair or replacement
• Enforces the aquatic center rules as listed in the staff manual, Facility Policies and Procedures Manual
• Sets a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow
• Performs such other related duties as may be assigned
• Teach a variety of swimming strokes and styles, plans class schedule, maintain discipline, motivate, and encourage questions
• Serves as essential emergency personnel when required
• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the position
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Education:
  
  Previous lifeguard experience preferred
• Knowledge of operation of a swimming pool, including sanitation, maintenance, safety, and public relations; swimming pool cash management operations and record keeping; principles, practices and application of lifesaving and first aid techniques; emergency services available; rules and regulations pertaining to the pool use
• Safety/
  
  Physical Requirements:
  
  Medium - Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and or using a force equal to lifting 50 lbs
• Certifications & Licenses
  
  Required:
  
  Minimum two (2) seasons of lifeguarding experience. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid Certification or the equivalent thereof and/or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification. Head Lifeguard/supervisory experience preferred
