Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a bright, motivated, and energetic Staff Accountant with strong tax preparation and review experience to join our growing CPA firm. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing tax returns—not entry‑level preparers—who can contribute to delivering timely, accurate, and strategic tax solutions for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will exemplify professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high‑quality client service while supporting tax compliance, planning, and financial reporting functions.

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates across multiple industries and varying levels of complexity.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, clarify documentation, and resolve tax‑related questions.
• Prepare tax projections, quarterly estimates, and compliance reports
  , including sales tax filings and payroll tax returns

• Assist clients with tax planning strategies to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws and regulatory changes to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements
  , including posting adjusting journal entries and finalizing trial balances for tax preparation and interim reporting.
• Collaborate with internal team members and leadership to meet deadlines and maintain high‑quality service standards.
• Support additional accounting, tax, and client service duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred.
• Proven experience in tax preparation and review within a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of individual and business tax compliance

• Familiarity with financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger accounting

• Proficiency in tax and accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience with multi‑entity and multi‑state tax filings
