Job responsibilitiesProvidingurgent dental care for patients (both children and adults) unable to access aGeneral Dental Practitioner and who have an emergency or urgent dental careneed
Providingexcellence of service including written clinical detail enabling colleagues toprovide face-to-face treatment or other interventions at future appointments
Being responsible for safe working and practice on a day-to-day basis in sites of clinical activity, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and legislation, appropriate health, safety and security procedures within the workarea, and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses using the Smile Together incident reporting procedure
Undertakingother reasonable duties as requested by the Dental Director, Clinical Director sand Smile Together Management Team
Working with the Dental Director, Clinical Directors and other operational and clinicalleads to ensure your experience and knowledge helps to drive service improvement
Supporting colleagues in the delivery of urgent and emergency care services including temperature checks with co-workers in this clinical environment
Working alongside clinical and professional support colleagues in facilitating ongoing organisational change and development
Playinga valuable part in contributing to the success of our organisation
Maintaining good IT skills including in the useof our Practice Management System
Person Specification Qualifications- Have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery
- Have an NHS performer number
- Full registration with the General Dental Council and Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Have an appropriate higher dental qualification
- Familiarity with NHS dental services
- regulations and knowledge / acceptance of NHS / local policies and guidelines
- Trained to recognise and respond to medical emergencies (ie. Immediate Life Support Techniques)
- Awareness of and ability to keep confidentiality and handle sensitive data
- Experience in treating a range of oral conditions in various primary healthcare dental settings
- Knowledge of systems of care provision and
- current health and safety regulations
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and NHS Confidentiality Guidelines
- (eg. Caldicott) and their implications
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£14,812 to £105,800 a year
