Senior Software Engineer

One of the country’s largest data-driven technology organizations is searching for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join a highly visible enterprise platform team. This role focuses on building and scaling high-performance, low-latency middleware services that power mission‑critical applications primaire at global scale. This is an initial 5‑month contract position.

In this role you will take ownership of complex backend systems, influence architectural decisions, and help modernize a cloud‑native service ecosystem while working alongside senior architects, security partners, and reliability engineers.

Contract:

5‑month (possibility of extension)

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance C++ services supporting transactional, low‑latency workloads
• Build and maintain enterprise middleware and API layers that integrate internal and external systems
• Develop and deploy cloud‑native microservices running in containerized, Kubernetes‑based environments
• Partner closely with architecture,reads, security, and reliability teams to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and highly available
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support
• Improve system performance, stability, and observability in Linux‑based production environments
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices across the engineering organization

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience developing object‑oriented C++ applications in production environments
• Strong knowledge of memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization
• Hands‑on experience building or supporting distributed systems, APIs, or middleware platforms
• Experience working with RESTful and/or SOAP‑atasets based services using JSON and XML
• Proficiency with Linux/raw systems

• Familiarity with relational databases and data‑driven applications
• Experience deploying applications in containerized or cloud‑native environments (Kubernetes preferred)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development practices
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technically within a collaborative team
