Overview
The Elite Retail Merchandising Specialist is a full‑time dedicated BDS Rep responsible for break‑fix, installation, and ad‑hoc maintenance work, plus general merchandising tactics. Duties include installing/building displays, end caps, fixturing, and maintaining those displays, resetting planograms, conducting break‑fix repairs, and delivering in‑market training for other area representatives.
Key Responsibilities- Install and/or build displays, fixturing, and endcaps, including security, cabling, wiring, monitors, media players, and audio connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve display issues to ensure full functionality.
- Lead teams on multi‑rep projects that can require full 8‑hour days and travel up to 120 miles.
- Meet ad‑hoc maintenance requirements (store service within 48‑72 hours, independent troubleshooting, accurate status reporting).
- Perform general merchandising functions, including resetting planograms, POP, and pricing/fact tags.
- Build in‑store relationships and participate in weekly conference calls.
- Complete administrative tasks (scheduling reports, data entry, visit reporting).
- Complete certifications to train other BDS market representatives on break‑fix and merchandising work.
- Achieve other tasks as requested by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience building displays, fixturing, monitor cabling/connectivity.
- Experience using tools required to maintain displays.
- Experience troubleshooting and fixing display issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to independently manage an account base.
- Ability to read schematics and correctly connect components.
- Professional demeanor.
- Proficient use of a personal smartphone/tablet with GPS for photo upload, assignment reporting, and document reference.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance.
- Commitment to complete the market area’s minimum weekly or special project hours.
- A basic toolkit (multi‑screwdriver, torx bits, hammer, cordless drill, allen wrench, box cutter, rubber mallet, socket set, needle nose pliers, precision wire cutters, crescent wrench, easy‑off, putty knife, microfiber cloth, goo‑gone).
- Travel up to 120 miles with paid drive time and mileage per company policy.
- Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with 45‑50+ hours based on business needs;
Monday‑Friday starting at 8 am, occasional weekend work. - Hours exceeding 40 in a week will be communicated in advance by leadership, and all hours comply with state and local wage, overtime, and rest break guidelines.
- Regularly stand, walk, bend over, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, balance, grasp, push or pull, talk, hear, and drive.
- Always lift and carry supplies up to 10 lbs; regularly lift up to 40 lbs; frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs with a second person.
- Work 8‑hour resets when necessary.
- Climb ladders taller than 10 ft.
- Maintain continuous hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation.
