General Statement of Job
Performs difficult professional work planning and supervising all activities at a recreation center and Train Depot Supervision is exercised over full and part time employees at both centers. Work is performed under general supervision.
Essential Functions- Plans, organizes programs and supervises participants utilizing the Recreation Center and Train Depot;
Enforces Center policies and maintain order. - Collects fees for instructors, special events and private grounds.
- Schedules Center workers for programs and special events.
- Administers Center budget; purchases supplies for Center and Depot.
- Schedules, organizes and maintains records for room usage and other Center activities; write permits;
Supervises training and schedules the work of Center and Department staff; evaluates employees work performance. - Develops new programs for participants, makes community contacts, recruits instructors, determines fees and schedules, prepares press releases;
- Coordinates and stimulates recreational activities.
- Prepares budget for programs and Center; helps monitor and control expenditures.
- Responsible for Recreation Department's and registration program software, including management, records, training and updates.
- Performs related tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited university or college with a Bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure services, public administration, or closely related field WITH
- Two (2) years of experience in operating and supervising a recreation center.
- Two (2) years of experience in Recreation Programming, including six (6) months of administrative experience.
- Position may require additional special licenses and certificates by NRPA and FRPA.
- Possession of valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period.

ScheduleMonday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm

BenefitsSummary
ANNUAL LEAVE: Shall accrue prior to an employee attaining permanent status in the classified service and may be used after six (6) months of employment at the sole discretion of the Department Head, but it shall not be paid out upon resignation or termination unless the employee has attained permanent status (one full year). The maximum accrual is 360 hours.

CASH OUT OF ANNUAL LEAVE

Employees who have attained permanent status shall be permitted to cash out up to forty (40) hours of accrued and unused Annual Leave, either in a single lump sum payment or two or more partial payments, each fiscal year.
SICK LEAVE: 8 hours per month. Any hours in excess of 960 will be paid off annually at 50%. Upon retirement, employees with a minimum of 5 years continuous service will receive 50% of sick leave balance. Termination for reasons other than retirement shall be entitled to payment for accrued, but unused sick leave, as follows:
