Performs difficult para-professional work assisting with directing a diversified racquet sports programs; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Supervision is exercised over all Boca Raton Tennis Center or Racquet Center staff.
- Plans, organizes and oversees large-scale tennis programs and events catering to varied age groups with upwards of 300 participants.
- Publicizes upcoming tennis events and programs through diverse media channels
- Supervises and directs programs and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures;
- Recommends purchase of equipment and supplies and solicits bids for grounds, building, and courts;
- Prepares and manages budget for center, including forecasting, revenues and expenditures;
- Researches and recommends CIP and capital purchases;
- Prepares and follows up to resolve facility maintenance work orders;
- Supervises, schedules and evaluates work performance of staff;
- Manages billings, accounts, and oversees Pro Shop purchases and revenue accounts.
- Handles comments from public on programs, events and facility; ensures positive public relations.
- Maintains comprehensive program reports in Rec Trac.
- Compiles information from various sources and prepares payroll;
- Checks and reviews a variety of data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations, producing routine reports
- Manages incoming calls, assists the public, receives court reservations and collect fees.
- Assists in Pro Shop operations as needed.
- Maintains office files and keeps records
- Operates standard office machines, word processing, and data entry equipment.
- Tennis & Racquet sports and the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a tennis facility
- General office practices and procedures
- Use of a variety of Microsoft Office Suite products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Use of computers and software applications to a moderate degree of proficiency including but not limited to for use of payroll and timekeeping (Oracle), reservation and registration management (Rec Trac)
- Developing and managing budgets
- Written and verbal communication, including to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to personnel accurately and concisely
- Plan and direct staff activities
- Correctly interpret and efficiently implement all applicable policies and procedures
- Delegate, manage, supervise, lead and motivate to achieve goals
- Prepare and maintain accurate records
- Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with personnel under supervision, city staff and officials, as well as the general public
- Work a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends and evenings as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in community or group recreation program administration at a recreation or tennis center
- Six (6) months of supervisory experience in community or group recreation program administration at a recreation or tennis center
