We are looking for an HR Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our new site in Penang, Malaysia. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Asia, Europe and the United States.
We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on HR Manager to oversee all HR operations and people strategies for our Malaysia office. This role is responsible for driving HR excellence, ensuring legal compliance, developing talent, and fostering a high‑performance culture aligned with PEC’s global objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic HR Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support business growth and organizational development. - Partner with the Country Manager to align HR practices with business goals.
- Talent Acquisition & Management:
Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for key positions, ensuring effective sourcing, selection, and onboarding processes. - Develop talent pipeline strategies and employer branding initiatives.
- Performance & Development:
Design and manage performance management systems, career development programs, and succession planning. - HR Operations & Compliance:
Oversee payroll coordination, HR administration and accurate maintenance of employee records. Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labour laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies. - Handle complex employee relations matters, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
- Team Leadership:
Act as the primary HR contact for the Malaysia site and liaison with global HR teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience as an HR Manager
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act and related labour laws
- Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, and compliance matters.
- Result driven, aiming for success in a competitive recruitment world
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
