Patient Access Scheduler

Center for Hematology & Oncology – Full‑time, 8:00 A‑30 P.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system.
• Work in a call‑center type environment and meet individual quality metrics.
• Practice Baptist Health’s philosophy of service excellence by providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, certificate, GED, or equivalent.
• Complete and pass a Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology (desired).
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, CMS, EMTALA, etc.).
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish/Creole (desired).
• Experience with accurate typing (minimum 35 WPM).

Minimum

Required Experience:

Less than 1 year.
