Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

We are seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Controller to lead and manage the accounting function of a growing financial services organization based in Boca Raton. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate has experience in financial services, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Ensure proper revenue recognition, loan accounting, accruals, and reserves (as applicable)
• Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations
• Manage cash flow reporting and liquidity oversight

• Ensure compliance with applicable financial services regulations
• Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory examinations
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies
• Partner with legal and compliance teams on financial reporting requirements

• Lead and mentor accounting staff
• Establish scalable processes to support organizational growth
• Implement best practices in automation and system optimization
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, underwriting, portfolio management, and executive leadership

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling initiatives
• Provide executive-level financial analysis and KPI reporting
• Assist with capital planning and banking relationships
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, acquisitions, or new product launches

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Financial services industry experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with regulatory reporting is highly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP/accounting system experience required
• Strong communication skills and executive presence
