Summary:

The Athletic Communications Assistant will be on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, can work independently and within a team-oriented work group. This position requires significant evening and weekend work.

Job Description:

** Essential duties and responsibilities
*** Serve as primary statistician and game day athletic communications contact for assigned sports (write press releases, conduct interviews, assistant with the in-game broadcast production, handle in-game statistics, etc).
* Work in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Director to manage game day staff for assigned sports.
* Assist with special events as necessary.
* Other duties as assigned.
** Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
*** Strong writing, editing, computer and oral communication skills.
* Successful candidates will be knowledgeable in Statcrew/NCAA Live Stats, Final Cut, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Premier, as well as have some knowledge of HTML code.
* Digital photography experience a plus.
* Video editing and statistical software experience preferred.
* Night and weekend work required.
** Minimum qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
* At least one year of experience in collegiate athletics communications preferred.
