Purpose Brands, the parent company of Orange theory, Anytime Fitness, Waxing the City, The Bar Method, and Basecamp Fitness, is seeking a Fitness Equipment Product Line Manager (Category Manager) to join its team. The Fitness Equipment Product Line Manager (PLM) is a key contributor to the Products and Supply Chain team, supporting the needs of the franchise network and out-of-studio platform while driving profitability for Purpose Brands. This role requires a hands-on approach combined with strong business acumen to support the company’s continued global expansion.
The PLM possesses a strong understanding of P&L statements, leads product deployment initiatives, and applies an analytical mindset to deliver reporting and insights that drive growth within the Fitness Equipment category.
Purpose/Impact: (Duties & Essential Functions)
- In coordination with key brand stakeholders, ensure new products are brought to market in a timely and profitable manner.
- Drive product strategy, offering optimization, and profitability of the Fitness Equipment P&L.
- Establish network standards and compliance requirements related to:
- Fitness Equipment usage
- Installation protocols
- Product mix
- Warranty
- Product life cycle
- Develop, maintain, and monitor reporting related to standards, compliance, and performance.
- Leverage internal and industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the Fitness Equipment product line to support strategy and execution.
- Manage relationships with primary suppliers of Fitness Equipment, installation services, and after-market services.
- Partner with the Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) to facilitate the Studio Infrastructure Sub-Committee.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance teams to drive and maintain a lean order-to-cash cycle.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain/Global Fulfillment team to prioritize departmental initiatives.
- Participate in webinars and network communications to ensure franchisees remain informed on key initiatives and product updates.
- Manage and coordinate equipment requirements for annual, network-wide symposiums and related events.
- Present new programs, policies, and products in network-facing forums.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and pricing analysis
- Analytical mindset with the ability to aggregate data and produce actionable reporting
- Experience in assortment planning, product pricing, vendor relations, and product line strategy
- Proven success managing revenue-driving, profit-focused categories
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical capacity
- Collaborative team player with cross-functional partnership experience
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product line development, retail, or a comparable business environment
- Demonstrated experience in assortment planning, pricing strategy, vendor management, and category ownership
- Experience using analytics tools to aggregate data and compile reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Net Suite or similar ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage)
- Experience in Fitness Equipment, Health & Wellness, or related industries
- Knowledge of the franchise business model
