** The Opportunity
** We’re seeking a
** Senior Accountant
** to join the Insurance Accounting team. This newly created role supports continued business expansion and offers the chance to work across multiple insurance and reinsurance entities. You’ll take ownership of general ledger accuracy, month-end close, statutory reporting, and regulatory filings while contributing to process improvement initiatives in a dynamic environment.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting, reconciliations, roll forwards, and variance analyses.
* Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
* Prepare and assist with
** Yellow Book statutory filings
** and
** premium tax returns**.
* Support
** external audits**, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
* Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations to improve accounting processes.
* Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
** About You
*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
** CPA or CPA track preferred**.
* 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years at a Senior level.
* Experience in
** insurance accounting** (P&C or reinsurance) required.
* Strong understanding of
** statutory reporting
** and
** Yellow Book filings**.
* Advanced
** Excel
* * skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Bonus: exposure to
** GAIN compliance software
** or
** Workday ERP**.
* Public accounting experience is a plus.
