The Senior Admissions & Records Specialist will assist in providing training. This position serves as the backup for the Director of Admissions and Recruiting and is expected to be able to assist in other areas of the college as needed.
* Receive and process admission applications along with supporting documentation to facilitate timely matriculation of student enrollment.
* Provide support and assist students in areas of admissions & student records including, but not limited to, preparing enrollment verification forms, processing and evaluating student transcripts, and assisting with registration and schedule changes.
* Working knowledge and understanding of all major duties related to admissions & records. Train and mentor other staff as needed. In the absence of the Director of Admissions & Recruiting, assist other staff and make sound decisions concerning all admissions & records operations.
* Foster a customer service environment for fellow employees, students, and visitors. Be an Ambassador for the College. Support the college's initiative to maximize retention of current students and enable students to finish their collegiate goals.
* Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the ACCS Chancellor's Office, and the College.
* Participate in College functions (Award and Honor events, Alumni Homecoming, Commencement, etc.).
* Assume other work related responsibilities as delegated by an appropriately assigned College administrator.
* Ability to work flexible hours as position requires occasional participation in off-campus and/or weekend workshops/events
* Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of student records as mandated by FERPA and institutional policies
* Exemplify quality customer service
* Possess effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to problem solve with appropriate cognitive ability
* Experience working with computers and software comparable to Microsoft Office products
The Senior Admissions & Records Specialist is required to have a Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution. Required three years of work experience in student admissions at Snead State Community College.
