The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods is seeking a detail‑oriented Registered Nurse to join our Pre‑Operative team. This role is essential to our surgical workflow, ensuring all clinical information is gathered and patients are fully prepared before their procedural encounters.

Essential Duties
  • Clinical Assessment:
    Perform thorough pre‑admission phone assessments to gather medical and surgical histories, medication lists, and current health conditions.
  • Collaboration:

    Partner with anesthesia staff to determine patient appropriateness for the facility’s scope and level of care.
  • Patient

    Education:

    Address patient questions and concerns, providing comfort, reassurance, and clear pre‑operative instructions.
  • Documentation:
    Accurately document assessments in the EMR, including medication verification and the entry of pre‑operative orders as appropriate.
  • Compliance:
    Maintain patient privacy and ensure strict confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI) while following all regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Professionalism:
    Maintain a professional demeanor and perform other duties as assigned to support the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
  • Licensure:
    Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Skills:

    Exceptional critical thinking, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
  • Communication:
    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret and accurately document complex patient information.
Schedule & Benefits
  • Hours:

    Full‑time, 4 days per week (10‑hour shifts).
  • Shift: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
  • Work‑Life Balance:
    No weekends or holidays.
