Medical Assistant – Express Care

Southwoods Health is currently hiring a Medical Assistant for our Boardman Express Care location. In this role, you will partner with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position involves a dynamic blend of skilled clinical and administrative duties.

• Patient
  
  Experience:
  
  Create a welcoming, professional environment through exceptional customer service for all patients and visitors.
• Clinical Support:
  Room patients efficiently using two patient identifiers; obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, medications, and allergies.
• Lab Procedures:
  Collect, process, and store specimens following strict protocols; prepare specimens for transport to the hospital lab while maintaining positive identification.
• Communication:
  Promptly report and record critical lab values, adverse reactions, and pertinent patient information to the physician and care team.
• Administrative Excellence:
  Schedule appointments, manage multi-line phones, file documents, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Compliance & Advocacy:
  Support patient rights and responsibilities while ensuring all practice processes remain compliant with regulatory agencies and OSHA/TJC standards.

• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  Completion of a Medical Assistant or EMT program is preferred.
• Alternative
  
  Experience:
  
  We are willing to train candidates with 1+ years of experience directly related to patient care (e.g., STNA, CNA, Phlebotomy, or Pharmacy Tech).
• Skills:
  
  Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Structure: Variable schedule including (2) 12-hour shifts, (1) 10-hour shift, and (1) 6-hour shift.

Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
