Southwoods Health is hiring Billing Customer Service Representative to work in our main office in Boardman at the Southwoods Executive Centre. The billing customer service representative is the first point of contact for all incoming billing calls for Southwoods Health, providing courteous, accurate and timely service to resolve patient issues and make arrangements to collect and receive payments on patient accounts.

The role also involves managing bad debt transfer processes and ensuring 100% patient satisfaction through good customer service and prudent judgment.

• Receive all incoming billing calls with courteous, accurate, timely service to resolve patient issues and arrange collection of payments.
• Educate patients on available financial assistance opportunities.
• Negotiate settlements with patients in accordance with policy.
• Update patient requests in the system to maintain a documented trail.
• Assist patients with payment plan arrangements according to policy.
• Maintain worklists with tasks, payment plans, and pre‑bad debt items.
• Analyze patients with limited income to settle a suitable monthly payment plan under the HCAP program.
• Receive and analyze HCAP financial assistance forms, submit qualifying accounts, log all HCAP approvals for auditors, maintain supporting documentation per retention guidelines, and review Federal Poverty Guidelines annually.
• Locate and monitor overdue accounts; review accounts heading to collections; coordinate review, approval, and submission of accounts to collections.
• Ensure processes in the responsible physician practice comply with all regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Training or courses in business office activities, computer skills, and medical terminology.
• Effectively communicate and problem‑solve.
• Maintain professional demeanor at all times, with strong ethical and moral principles.

Full‑time. Monday‑Friday. Weekly rotation 8 am‑4:30 pm, 8:30 am‑5 pm.
