Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bluffton, South Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic retail environment while managing key financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and a proactive approach to maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage credit applications, ensuring timely and accurate handling.

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

- Perform regular reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Assist in corporate tax return preparation and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations.

- Support collection efforts by monitoring outstanding accounts and communicating with clients as needed.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

- Maintain detailed and organized financial records to support audits and reporting.

- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis. Requirements - Proven experience with corporate tax return preparation and sales tax compliance.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and journal entry processes.

- Familiarity with credit application processing and collection procedures.

- Expertise in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

- Proficiency in financial reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

- Attention to detail and ability to maintain organized financial records.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
