Program Aide; On-Call

Program Aide On-Call Adams/Huntington/Wells County Head Start Centers

You will assist in centers in Adams, Huntington, and Wells Counties.

$11.95 hourly.

This position works as part of a team to assist in activities in the classroom, kitchen, bus, and/or to serve as a disabilities aide as needed. It contains elements of job descriptions of positions with titles similar to classroom aide, janitor, kitchen aide, and disabilities aide, providing support for children with disabilities. The role works with typically developing children and/or children with special needs/disabilities and may be reassigned to various classrooms/centers as deemed necessary for program operations.

The position may receive content area technical support and training from the staff person responsible for center supervision, teacher, kitchen staff, and/or program managers/specialists/coordinators.

• Assists classroom staff in all classroom activities and outdoor activities included in lesson plans.
• Helps supervise mealtime, eating with the children to encourage good nutrition and social skills.
• Helps keep the classroom and its contents clean and orderly.
• Substitutes for cooking as needed in the kitchen.

As a minimum requirement, the applicant must be 18 years of age. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Some states may require additional requirements for kitchen aide duties (i.e., Safe Serve).

Between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday (20 hours per week, 42 weeks per year).

Pay: $11.95 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 20 per week.
