Overview
Job Title: Welding Robot Operator / Programmer
Location: Bluefield VA
Shift: Day 5:00am – 3:30pm
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $17-$18/hr
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Welding Robot Operator who can both program and operate robotic welding systems
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining robotic welding cells to ensure high-quality, efficient production.
- Program, set up, and operate robotic welding systems
- Load and modify welding programs to meet production and quality requirements
- Perform robot teach pendant programming
- Set up fixtures and parts for robotic welding operations
- Monitor welding processes and make real-time adjustments as needed
- Inspect welded parts to ensure conformance with specifications and quality standards
- Troubleshoot robotic, welding issues
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times and weld quality
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Proven experience operating and programming welding robots
- Strong understanding of robotic welding processes (MIG, or spot welding, as applicable)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
- Experience with teach pendants and robot programming logic
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of welding parameters, fixturing, and part fit-up
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Certification in robotic welding or industrial robotics
- Experience with industrial robots or PLC integration
- Previous manufacturing or production environment experience
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance and continuous improvement (Lean)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery and robots
