General PurposeThe Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes.
Essential Functions- Maintain safe and secure environments, practicing safe behaviors and ensuring a safe, secure shopping environment.
- Security of building including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, and asset protection.
- Customer safety, accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures.
- Verify fire alarm systems, respond to after‑hours alarms when requested.
- Deliver courteous customer service to all customers, associates, and leaders.
- Represent and support the company brand, maintain professional appearance, and enforce dress code.
- Keep all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard, including daily trash removal.
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards.
- Handle receiving of merchandise and non‑merchandise inbound deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all stockrooms and back‑stock.
- Conduct loss prevention activities, maintain PVM system, and perform package inspections.
- Supervise front‑end operations, train associates on cash register use, shortage control, and customer experience.
- Maintain pace and presence at the front end, manage line and expedite customers.
- Ensure all equipment functions properly and supplies are stocked.
- Oversee fitting room maintenance, tag audits, and go‑back compliance.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll administration, and scheduling compliance.

- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
