Registered Nurse Float Pool

Overview

We are seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse
, sometimes referred to as aFloat

Nurse,Flex Nurse orPool nurse. Our Float PoolRNwill work in our Critical Care Units (ICU and ER), providing patient care across these two areas. The Float Pool RN is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based care to critically ill and high‑acuity patients while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Bonus Options: up to $20,000

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Variable

Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am

Floors: ICU and ER

Location: St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in assigned units.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to hemodynamic data and advanced monitoring systems.
• Recognize and respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care progression.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to staff as appropriate.
• Float to various critical care and progressive care units based on staffing needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
