Machinist

Machinist 2, 2nd shift:
Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-1:45am.

Fike Corporation, a privately held international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Machinist 2 on the 2nd shift. Fike is located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally and 1,200 employees worldwide.

Operates various machinery such as numerical control (NC) and computer numerical control (CNC). Operates several machines at once.

Schedule note: Training will take place on the first shift (M-F, 7-3:30pm) for approximately 2-3 months. Once training is complete, the role will transition to the permanent 2nd shift schedule (M-TH, 3:15pm-1:45am).

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Subject Matter Understanding. Computer Literate. Inspecting/Examining Ability. Mechanical Dexterity. Machining Aptitude. Housekeeping. Troubleshooting.

The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent. One or more years of Vo-Tech, manufacturing, or mechanical exposure experience. Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings. Demonstrated skills with hand tools and measuring tools (calipers and gauges). Ability to read calipers. Able to perform moderately complex math and computer tasks.
