Lead - Advanced Visualization

Job Description

This position requires a combination of technical expertise in optics, software, and test engineering, along with strong analytical and leadership skills to manage lens optical performance testing and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

• Familiarity with camera or display optics, and image sensor technology.
• Experience writing software for hardware applications (robotics, equipment automation, Labview).
• Design and build test fixtures (manual and automated), instrumentation setups, and measurement routines.
• Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for fully automated complex systems.
• Familiar with statistical analysis (e.g. gauge R&R).
• Lab workflow supervision & scheduling.
• Mechanical & electrical test equipment operation.
• Test automation & scripting (Python, LabVIEW, Linux; C++ exposure).
• Wiring standards & documentation for repeatable builds.
• 5S work spaces, inventory control, and safety compliance.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Provide technical leadership for all lens optical performance testing activities, defining test strategies, reviewing complex test results, and ensuring alignment with product performance, regulatory, and reliability requirements.
• Supervise structural and functional evaluations of robotic surgical instrumentation using custom test stands, axial load frames, and other equipment.
• Operate tensile/compression testing systems and electronics/automation test setups.
• Troubleshoot test issues using advanced analytical/problem‑solving skills; perform electrical measurements with function generators and DMMs.
• Collaborate with engineers to clarify test requests; ensure accurate results and customer satisfaction.
• Summarize and report test data clearly, accurately, and on time.
• Contribute to development/refinement of test methods and processes based on prior experience.
• Work independently through multi‑step test workflows while maintaining proactive communication with stakeholders.
• Support testing in the animal tissue lab when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Partner with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems, Regulatory, and Program Management to align on requirements and risk‑based test strategies.

$65,000-$75,000 per year
