Mechanical Technician Lead

Job Description

• Smartsheet work management and scheduling
• Instron / MTS mechanical testing systems
• Structural, functional, and metrology evaluations
• Advanced root cause analysis and troubleshooting
• Data acquisition and analytical interpretation
• Test Suite / Lab View software proficiency
• Guide workflow through the mechanical lab including task delegation and test equipment scheduling using Smartsheet
• Lead weekly workload meetings for the mechanical group and participate in bi weekly leadership meetings
• Communicate regularly with client contacts to gather testing requirements and define result criteria
• Coordinate with clients to clarify test requests, discuss results, and ensure high customer satisfaction
• Perform structural, functional, and metrology testing using Instron/MTS and other mechanical test systems
• Conduct tensile, compression, torsional, and other mechanical evaluations using commercial and proprietary equipment
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting; communicate findings to engineers and technicians
• Summarize and document test outcomes using Good Documentation Practices and MS Office tools
• Support study planning, experimental design, execution, and data analysis
• Execute specialized testing including leak pressure, environmental conditioning, axial load frame testing, torsional testing, force to fire carts, laser extensometers, high speed video, servo hydraulic systems, and custom fixtures
• Lead presentations of lab capabilities during customer, surgeon, and marketing tours
• Train new technicians and co ops on axial load frame systems, Test Suite software, and safe operation of mechanical test equipment for both TCS and client personnel
• Serve as backup support for team members across mechanical lab functions
• Perform testing with porcine animal tissue when required, following safety and regulatory procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned

$50,000-$60,000 year
