Who are we looking for?

GHD's Northeast Engineering Design Organization is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team! This position will be based in the Scranton / Wilkes Barre, PA area to strategically support our expanding client base in Northeast Pennsylvania-a region that has been identified as a priority growth area. While our closest physical office is currently in Bloomsburg, Scranton / Wilkes-Barre's central location places this role in close proximity to several key municipal and private-sector water clients, allowing us to deliver more responsive service and strengthen local relationships.

This position also reflects GHD's long-term vision for the region: as our presence grows, Northeast PA may become home to a future physical office.

As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water, wastewater, stormwater, and other infrastructure and environmental projects throughout the region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

* Contract Management:
Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.

* Engineering Inspections:
Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

* Client & Customer Management (External):
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships

* Monitor Construction Works:
Monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction, maintenance, or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality, cost, and time requirements.

* Engineering Drawings:
Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.

* Engineering Solutions Design:
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

* Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

* Project Management:
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

* Technical Troubleshooting:
Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.

What you will bring to the team:

* Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Systems Engineering or related field of study

* Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification with a desire to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required

* Minimum 2 years of experience working on municipal infrastructure projects (i.e. water, wastewater, stormwater, etc.)

* Previous consulting experience strongly desired

* Able and willing to travel to client job sites as needed (primarily local with the occasional overnight)
