Operations Manager
Automotive Service Manager - Hennepin County, MN Automotive Service Director needed for luxury import dealership in Hennepin County, MN. The successful candidate is a proven automotive Service Manager who is process driven, consistent, and a great mentor to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who knows how to drive business, brings energy and focus to the department, and enjoys building a strong team and positive culture focused on long-term success.
The dealership offers a beautiful facility, stable upper management, positive working conditions. It is important that the Service Manager hired believes in providing a great customer experience so that customer retention and CSI are in the green. Moreover, the dealer is seeking a proactive Service Director who can grow the department and increase gross profit, as there is untapped opportunity.
The successful candidate will be a hands‑on leader who leads by example, builds strong teams, and serves as a resource for their employees. Experience with CDK is a plus, but not required. Must be professional in both dress and demeanor. Excellent schedule, Monday - Friday.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department
- Create and implement processes to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability in the service department.
- Set a clear vision for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance goals.
- Hold daily and weekly meetings for the department, as well as 1:1s with individual team members
- Ensure the department has green CSI through building and maintaining relationships with customers and ensuring that they receive high-quality service.
- Oversee the Service Advisors and ensure that ROs are written up and closed out in a timely manner.
- Manage and supervise the service technicians, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and within established timelines.
- Provide training to service technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
- Recruit, interview and train service staff; handle performance reviews
- Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty
- Develop and manage budgets and operating plans for the service department, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about the latest automotive technologies and stay current on industry trends.
- Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
- Monitor/control all warranty activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensure the Service area is customer‑ready with proper displays and information
- Other duties as required
- Compensation range will be in the $125,000-$150,000 range depending on experience, performance, and maintaining good CSI.
- Benefits package provided including health and 401(K)
- Monday - Friday schedule (dept is open on Saturdays but the Service Manager is not required to work Saturdays)
