Internship — User Experience Design About The Opportunity
We’re looking for a UX Design Intern who is curious, collaborative, and passionate about creating intuitive, human‑centered experiences. This intern will help design, test, and improve experiences for Dispatch drivers, with opportunities to support customer‑facing and internal tools as well.
As a member of the Product Design team, you’ll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to understand user needs, design mobile‑first solutions, and validate ideas through usability testing. Your work will directly influence how real users experience Dispatch products every day.
What You’ll Be Working On- Design and iterate on mobile‑first user experiences that improve usability and efficiency for Dispatch’s users.
- Translate user needs into effective design solutions by creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity mockups using established UX and visual design principles.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify usability issues, patterns, and opportunities, and communicate insights clearly to inform product decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to define problems, align on solutions, and support design implementation throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support usability testing and user research activities under the guidance of a mentor, including test preparation, session support, note‑taking, and synthesis of findings.
- Apply and help maintain the Dispatch design system to ensure consistent, scalable, and high‑quality user experiences.
- Understand and leverage AI‑based tools to support ideation, documentation, and efficiency within the design process.
- Communicate design concepts and problem‑solving approaches clearly, participate in design critiques, and incorporate feedback from mentors, peers, and stakeholders to iteratively improve designs.
- Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with an interest in user experience design (UX), human‑computer interaction design (HCI), or related field.
- Positive, self‑driven team player with a strong desire to learn.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time effectively.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Understanding of user‑centered design and usability principles.
- Ability to turn research and feedback into actionable insights.
- Ability to apply and adhere to established design systems.
- Familiarity with mobile app design libraries (Apple & Android).
- Familiarity with UX/UI design tools (e.g. Figma, Miro, etc.).
- Comfortable using AI‑based tools for analysis, automation, and decision support (e.g. ChatGPT, Miro AI, Figma AI, etc.).
- Commitment to professionalism and high‑quality user experiences.
- Pay: $20–$22 per hour
