Akkodis is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist for a client in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The candidate selected will ideally have 1-3+ years of experience.
Title: Help Desk Level 1/2
Contract-to-Hire after 3 months
Location: Local MN candidates only. Role is on-site in Bloomington, MN with some remote capability (1 day a week).
Salary upon conversion: $50k
Pay rate: $20-23/hr W2
Intake NotesMost important things are willingness to learn, quick learner/adaptable, and strong presentation skills in front of clients. They will need to travel onsite at clients once a week/bi-weekly for troubleshooting software/hardware.
- Basic windows updates, password resets, helping end user with any issues. Windows environment.
- Will need to get CompTIA A+ cert within 90 days of starting if they don't already have it.
- Nice to have MSP/field experience supporting different clients- fast paced environment.
- Understanding of ticketing systems, and able to learn their processes.
- Need to be able to pass background check- have had issues with this previously.
- Lots of opportunity internally for growth- level II or III- more engineering work as they are in a growth mode now.
80% Help Desk Support, 10% Projects, 10% Onsite Support
Technical- Provide technical support via phone, email, and support portal. Limited onsite may be required under certain situations.
- Responds and remediates support requests, alerts within established SLA’s as defined by client agreements.
- Works with other resources and vendors to deliver effective technical support services.
- Identifies, documents and troubleshoots user computing issues to resolution and maintains customer satisfaction.
- Utilizes Connect Wise (PSA) solution along with other service-specific tools and technologies to deliver technical support services and document time and support activities.
- Updates service request information with accurate documentation of all activities conducted.
- Be a resource for deployment team, completing projects and other duties as assigned.
Associates degree in Computer Science Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study, or 2 year+ of equivalent work experience.
Technical Skills- Troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
- Installation of applications and software
- Repairing and diagnosing hardware problems with workstations and laptops
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Spyware removal, virus removal
- Networking Concepts (LAN, WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS).
- Active Directory, Office 365 and Exchange Lite Administration
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Required: CompTIA A+ within first 90 days if they don't already have it.
Preferred: Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA N+, Server+, Security+ or similar.
ExperienceMinimum 1-year experience call center and/or technical support role or similar position.
Valued Qualifications (not required)- 3 years of relevant IT work experience
- Experience working for a IT Managed Services organization
- Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance
- Electronic Health Records Systems
