Base Pay Range

Field Service Controls EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Field Service Controls Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on supporting advanced automated machinery. This role combines technical expertise in electrical systems, PLC programming, and mechanical troubleshooting with strong customer‑facing skills.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys travel, and is passionate about solving complex problems.
Location- Preferred:
Bloomington, MN - Travel: 30–40% across the U.S. and Canada. Must be comfortable with overnight stays and occasional weekend work.
- Provide on‑site and remote technical support for automated machinery, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC‑related problems by connecting to systems and analyzing ladder logic (Allen Bradley preferred; Beckhoff experience is a plus).
- Perform installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance on equipment at customer sites.
- Document service activities using ticketing systems and maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement product improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all service activities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally in all interactions.
- Essential: Strong proficiency in electrical systems
, PLC troubleshooting, and ladder logic programming. - Solid understanding of mechanical systems and software integration.
- Preferred: Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (Beckhoff is a plus).
- Programming experience (C++ or similar).
- Customer‑facing experience in a technical role.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 2+ years in a field service or automation role with significant travel responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel internationally (passport required).
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Competitive salary (up to $110,000, negotiable for strong candidates).
