POSITION SUMMARYThe Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and outgoing payments. This role supports the finance department by maintaining organized financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAll employees are required to support Forklifts of Minnesota’s vision, mission, and values. The scope and duties of a given position may change or temporarily altered based on the business needs of Forklifts of Minnesota.
- Verifies, processes, and records invoices to ensure they match purchase orders and receipts, avoiding duplicate or unauthorized payments
- Schedules and executes payments through checks, ACH, or wire transfers, ensuring compliance with payment terms to maintain vendor relationships.
- Reconciles accounts payable transactions, including monthly aging reports, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy
- Resolves discrepancies related to invoices and payments, and addresses vendor inquiries to ensure smooth operations
- Maintains accurate records of accounts payable transactions including documentation for audits and compliance with internal policies
- Maintains and organizes accounts payable documentation and records, both digitally and physically
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the Company.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate Degree or coursework in accounting preferred - 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable or a general accounting role
- Proficiency with ERP or accounting software, Business Central preferred
- Able to prioritize work and multitask while adhering to deadlines
- Able to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy at all times to develop relationships with internal and external contacts
- Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information to all levels of the organization
- Basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction, multiplying and dividing, and calculating totals, subtotals, and balances
- Able to perform intermediate PC functions in Microsoft Office, including the use of spreadsheet tables and formulas
- Able to operate proficiently in the ERP system
- Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record keeping
- Able to work professionally with all levels of the organization
- Able to be organized, flexible, and easily adaptive to evolving and fast-paced working conditions
- Data driven and able to resolve issues by using available data
